About Me

Hi, my name is Nydia! I've been a musician since the age of 5, when I started playing the harp. The harp is an instrument deeply rooted in the musical traditions of the Middle East, the Mediterranean, and South and East Asia, but especially in Europe. An instrument so steeped in culture made for lots of fun for a then-aspiring history buff like me. As I've grown, I've learned more instruments, such as the piano and guitar, and also taken up singing. I now focus on singing for the most part, as it is easily accessible (the only thing stopping you, really, is a sore throat). I specialize in classical and jazz singing, but folk music provides a break for me from the rigorousness of my usual repertoire while maintaining technique and skill.
